ELIA: This is a song that has been in our repertory for a long time. The first versions of Today’s Ocean occurred before Franzis and I went on stage with the bottomline in this form and with this name.

Therefore, it was a matter truly dear to our hearts to dig this song out one more time and give it a few new clothes and colors. During the recording process for this album, I particularly liked that we added a lot of additional spherical synthesizer tracks that have not yet been used in this way at our live concerts. For me, these can also be understood as a homage to the music that I heard a lot, especially as a very young person.

When I listen to Today's Ocean, I inevitably see in front of my eyes the most remote areas of this earth, which we humans have long since influenced. Not always for the better. In this sense, this song is also an appeal for more awe for our nature and for the planet we live on.
